I've been engrossed in Animal Crossing recently. It's a really fun game to play andand I'm having a lot of fun decorating my town! I had intended to make a dark-nature themed town but for some reason it's getting cuter by the day..?? My fancy heart...🥺

It’s name is GIRLS BEAT STAGE and it’s a rhythm game featuring your favourite idols, including Dear Stage artists (Dempagumi.inc, Moso Calibration, ENGAG.ING) and indie idols like CY8ER and Maneki Kecak 🌸
It’s still a little rusty but the developers are regularly updating the game with new, smoother features.
Overall, it’s pretty similar to other rhythm game apps, but if you don’t speak any Japanese then you might find yourself a little lost because there’s a LOT of buttons and options!

Hello! I'm taking a break from some professional-ish translating... With more translating 💘
But this time it's of my a n g e l, Oomori Seiko. KUSO KAWA PARTY is my favourite album of the year so far -- I seriously recommend it if you're into cute, girly, yet angry music.
In early January, 2018, fans and media commented that a work very similar to my own was being displayed by COMME des GARÇONS at their Aoyama store. In addition, people were messaging me saying "Is this your work?" or "Congratulations on the collaboration!". (The displayed work was not a collaboration.)
I was surprised that the high-end brand COMME des GARÇONS (henceforth CdG) created a colourful piece in the image of Japan's "TOKYO" and "Kawaii" pop culture. Honestly, I think that in itself is a wonderful thing.
However, as someone who has worked with this culture and is an artist within this culture for over 20 years, I think it's important that I comment on this matter, now and in future.
The display shown to be similar to my own was the installation based on the CdG2018SS collection. It used colourful materials such as toys and characters shown on multiple human-shaped mannequins. As far as I am aware, it was displayed in the Aoyama, New York, and London stores.
The technique of attaching various materials has been used for a long time. However, what other artist collages with the same artistic and cultural context? I pour my heart and soul into creating original works. The display exhibited by CdG featured 3D human forms and was based on "TOKYO", showing awareness of the evolution of "Kawaii" after the war. The materials being used were toys, accessories, and other various items. It has been constructed using an abundance of colourful materials. It's easy to see why people would misunderstand and view it as my own work.
In my work I express "Kawaii" through many colours. Plus, instead of using paint, I travel around the world experiencing different cultures, gathering different materials. This mixture of worldwide cultures is my sense of "TOKYO". This is an important context within my own work.
When asked what my thoughts are on Kawaii culture, I'd say it's "Loving your favourite things!"
Don't you think it's your own definition, not that of a third party or the rest of the world?
In order to convey this fundamental message, I opened the 6%DOKIDOKI in Harajuku in 1995.In 2009, I leapt out of Harajuku to begin the worldwide "Harajuku Kawaii Experience" tour. Nowadays Kawaii culture has spread around the world and I was recognised for my efforts establishing that culture. In 2017, I travelled the world in a cultural exchange for the Agency of Cultural Affairs. Through this, I am sharing the essence of Kawaii, which is "to build your own Microcosm."
When it comes to artwork, I produced my representative series "Colorful Rebellion" (2010 - Photographic work 2013 - Half-dimensional work) using the previous method.。I've published my artwork in many countries around the world, in places such as New York, Florida, Anchorage, Amsterdam, and Milan. If you've researched Kawaii culture, then you'll have probably come across my work at least once.
I have recieved comments and messages from people from all over the world who have seen my art work regarding the latest CdG display. Upon seeing the photos of the display, my first impression was "Since you're here, we could have just collaborated!"
If you ask why, it's because I feel pride as the original creator who combined this method with the theme of "TOKYO" "Harajuku" and "Kawaii". I'm proud that I cultivated this culture together with a community that agrees with "Kawaii".
Towards the end of the 1980s and into the 90s, "Mode" was prevalent around the world. In this Monochrome world, "Colourful" reality. My own reality was "Colourful" and I used this as a weapon, insisting on staying true to that. I struggled with no experience and continued for 20 years. The fact that there are people around the world that care for this colourful culture leaves me very emotional. (After all, the future that I had been called "Stupid" for dreaming of in my twenties has finally come!)
As an artist, "Communication" is very important to me.

Relating to this situation, I think I would be happy to discuss my feelings with the media.
And most of all, I would be happy if I could talk to the people at COMME des GARÇONS.
I believe that this event could mark the starting point for "Conversation" between the fashion industry and the art industry. In addition, as an individual I think it is necessary for me to strengthen my work and concept, including the various opinions I received from fans and the actions they took.

I've been hunting the internet (aka lots of Twitter scrolling) for the cutest fukubukuro coming out this New Year!
A Fukubukuro is a Japanese yearly tradition where you can get brand items at a heavily reduced price. The only drawback is that usually the items are all a mystery. More recently, brands have been making items specifically for these lucky packs, but most brands still produce blind bags or contain mystery items,
They're all kinds of J-fashion, mainly girly & cute street fashion brands.
I'll be focusing on the online packs, since a lot of my readers live outside of Japan 💜

When inputting your address, you can just insert the whole thing into Address Line One - Leave the postcode section blank, since it only accepts Japanese postcodes.
Input it like this: 12 Something Street, City, County/State/Prefecture, Postcode, Country

The cart method has hanged since and a lot of people are recieving errors, so I came up with a workaround. I have confirmed with Manamoko/Fancy Surprise that this workaround is suitable.
Insert the number "0000000" into the postcode section - that's SEVEN zeros!!
DO NOT click the button next to it - this searches for the Japanese postcode and will autocomplete the address, which isn't required here.
Then continue with your address line one and two - If you're able to insert your entire address here then use it.
I was unable to but I used address line 2 and received an error, so things may be different in the first box? Let me know!
If you also receive an error then continue with your regular address lines and leave the rest for now.
Click the option at the bottom of the drop-down box - this says "Overseas"
Once you've entered everything, click the orange button to continue. The next page will show the postage options. Since we're ordering from outside of Japan we can only use the last option which is Airmail.
This option is cheaper than EMS and faster than SAL!
You will be shown how much your postage costs around here.
IMPORTANT > Below the postage options there will be a blank box at the bottom below the addresses/receiver information etc, allowing you to leave a note - In this box, insert your full address and postcode with the correct spacing/formatting!
You can now pick your payment option - I'm picking PayPal!
After you click continue, it'll confirm your order before redirecting you to PayPal. It'll be in Japanese until you log in, but it's easy enough to work out.
EDIT 23/11/19: Nowadays rather than redirecting you to PayPal, you just confirm your order and it'll complete your purchase. The final price will include the 10% Japanese tax rates but this will be removed later on. See the next step for details.

EDIT 23/11/19: Now you'll recieve two confirmation emails from "Fancy Surprise!". One is an automatic confirmation and another is thanking you for your order. If you click on the email you'll see it's just a summary of your order. The third email "RE:" is important - It contains a PayPal invoice link like so: https://www.paypal.com/invoice/p/(lots of numbers) Click on the invoice link and pay for your order using PayPal. This way you'll receive a tax discount which reduces your order cost by 10%! This is because only Japanese residents have to pay the tax.

...or so is the equation most of us think about when we imagine wearing fairy kei in anything over 25 degrees celcius. But the truth is, fairy kei isn't really about layers.
It's about the impression of layers.

Following on from my post on fairy kei motifs, I thought this time we could look at yumekawaii motifs! As mentioned before, yumekawa is an "aesthetic" more than an actual style. This means a lot of these motifs cross over into fairy kei territory too!
